U.S. Ambassador Stephen King, Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Perebyinis, and Dutch Ambassador Kees Klompenhouwer (who served as Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine from 2013 – 2017) participated in a public event on the current situation in Ukraine at the American Center in Prague on February 16.
The event featured a special screening of Winter on Fire (2015), an Oscar-nominated documentary on the unrest in Ukraine during 2013 and 2014, as student demonstrations supporting European integration grew into a violent revolution calling for the resignation of President Viktor F. Yanukovich.
During a panel discussion, the three ambassadors spoke about the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Russian occupation of Crimea, anti-corruption efforts, and political reforms as they marked the occasion of the fourth anniversary of Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity.
