U.S. Ambassador Andrew Schapiro hosted on October 1st an award ceremony for the Via Bona Awards for Philanthropy at his residence in Bubeneč. The Via Bona Award is a prestigious award that goes to both individuals and corporations in acknowledgement of their charitable efforts in the Czech Republic. It annually highlights inspiring examples of donating, points out new trends in philanthropy, and inspires all present and potential donors.
„I am honored that the U.S. Embassy has been able to support Via Bona Awards for many years and that I can continue in this tradition. I praise the Via Foundation for continuing to support philanthropy in this country“, said Ambassador Schapiro who presented the Personal Engagement Award to Jindřiška Petrtýlová for exceptional endurance and dedication in her work at the UNICEF Baking for Children Project, and Petr Sýkora for his personal engagement and courage in launching the unique Good Angel project.
