U.S. Commercial Service brings business mission of U.S. “Smart Cities” companies

From March 14 – 16, 2018, U.S. Commercial Service Prague worked with the Business Council  for International Understanding (BCIU) to bring to Prague a unique business mission of  U.S. companies active in Smart Cities arena. Five U.S. companies – Mastercard, Microsoft, Viasat, Visa, Winncom Technologies – participated in the mission.

Mission participants had an opportunity to discuss Smart Cities with experts from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Regional Development, CzechInvest, Czech smart cities clusters, and representatives of the Confederation of Industry. Mission participants also visited the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings (UCEEB), an independent institute of the Czech Technical University in Prague.

The mission resulted in a number of fruitful Smart Cities discussions and the beginning of a dialogue between U.S. companies and the Czech Republic in this area.
