The U.S. Embassy in Prague and Ambassador Stephen King were honored to host an exclusive performance of the PKF — the Prague Philharmonia – in the Petschek Villa garden of the American Ambassadorial residence in Prague, on September 12th. “Music speaks a language that can be understood by all people of good will,” Ambassador King said. “It must be allowed to spread freely and independently, thus contributing towards a better understanding among different cultures.” The PKF played Ludwig van Beethoven’s Coriolan overture and Seventh Symphony in A Major Op. 92 under the baton of Chief Conductor and Music Director Emmanuel Villaume.
“Music is about sharing and this is a unique opportunity to share it in a beautiful setting permeated with history and turbulent human fates with people who are eager to accept it. It is no coincidence that we have chosen the composition of Ludwig van Beethoven, whose music has always tried to release itself from earthly matters and get closer to higher principles. Thank you, Mr. Ambassador and the U.S. Embassy in Prague, for this treasured and unique opportunity,” said Emmanuel Villaume.
