Similarities and Differences in Czech and American Entrepreneurial Cultures

Cultural Attaché Erin Kotheime opens discussion with Czech economists Pavel Kohout and Aleš Michl.

Two prominent Czech economists – Pavel Kohout and Aleš Michl – presented a discussion on entrepreneurship on November 4 at the American Center, in coordination with the Czech IVLP Alumni Club. The two compared Czech and American Entrepreneurial Cultures and discussed economic trends driving new business.

During the interactive and lively discussion they discussed legal issues related to start-ups, start-up funding, management and staffing. They also explored topics including Czech entrepreneurs‘ access to both EU and global markets.

Pavel Kohout and Ales Michl are alumni of the U.S.‘s International Visitor Leadership Program. The discussion was moderated by Czech IVLP Alumni Club Board member Václav Sochor.
