Klub Beztíže in Prague’s neighbourhood of Žižkov hosted a robotics workshop lead by Christian Gjørret, founder of the Prague’s Café Neu Romance robot performance festival. The idea of a robotics workshop for youth came from the US Embassy’s Public Affairs Section and the workshop was opened by Erin Kotheimer, the Cultural Attaché, and Noah Woodiwiss from its Economical Section.
About 20 children from Beztíže and neighbouring club Ulita had the opportunity to assemble and ‘bring to life’ robots from the LEGO Mindstorms series. The aim of the workshop was to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) education to the participants as well as the ethos of cooperation between the two youth clubs by the means of a cutting edge technology.
