U.S. Embassy Commercial Specialist Veronika Novakova traveled to the National Restaurant Association (NRA) fair in Chicago, representing European markets and presenting on market opportunities for U.S. manufacturers in the hospitality business. NRA showcases the top innovations ranging from ready-to-use convenience foods and cutting-edge equipment, to new point-of-sale (POS) technologies, back office systems and training programs. The innovations are targeted at restaurateurs who are looking for ways to operate more efficiently, cost-effectively, all while improving the guest experience. Apart from technology and automation taking stage as one of the main trends, food safety, sustainability, and labor issues got quite the attention. And food and beverage trends? CBD-Infused food and drink options, plant-based lemonades and “meatless meat” options like plant-based burgers represent the future.
NRA is one of the world´s leading events in the hotel and restaurant business covering a wide spectrum of products from equipment and supplies to food & beverage. In 2019 the show celebrated its 100th anniversary. Every year NRA gathers 43,000 attendees in Chicago, Illinois. NRA is a traditional participant in the U.S. Department of Commerce‘s International Buyer Program. https://www.nationalrestaurantshow.com
