Seminar: Invest in the United States with SelectUSA! – POSTPONED

U.S.-Czech Business Forum Postponed
Prague, March 9 — In consultation with Czech Government authorities, including the Castle, the U.S. Embassy has regrettably agreed to postpone the U.S.-Czech Business Forum and all related events that were planned for this Thursday and Friday, March 12-13. We have not yet identified a new date, but will work closely with our Czech and American partners to find a new time.

On Friday, March 13, the U.S. Embassy Commercial Service will organize a seminar on Investing in the United States with SelectUSA. The seminar is open for Czech companies/exporters that are considering setting up an office, distribution center or manufacturing in the United States. Ambassador Stephen B. King will open the seminar. Greg Kalbaugh, Executive Director of SelectUSA at the U.S. Department of Commerce, will provide an overview of SelectUSA programs offered to Czech companies interested in expanding to United States. Vaclav Muchna, CEO and Founder of Y Soft will share lessons learnt from investing in the United States. Kim Atkinson, Consular Chief of U.S. Embassy will provide inside into business and investor visas. Christina Sharkey, Commercial Counselor, U.S. Embassy will highlight best practices working with individual states in the U.S. through Economic Development Organizations (EDOs).

For the first time ever, Czech companies will also have a unique opportunity to meet with representatives of several U.S. states’ Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) in Prague during one-on-one meetings. EDOs can provide Czech companies with information on sector hubs in their state, state incentives for investors, information on how to do business in their state, and much more. You can find the list of states that confirmed its participation below. Feel free to register for the seminar and request meetings with EDO of your choice at Veronika.Novakova@trade.gov
