Elevating Micro and Small Businesses in the Post Pandemic Era

On June 14, Chargé d´affaires Michael Dodman took part in a discussion on ”Elevating Micro and Small Businesses in the Post Pandemic Era” which revealed key findings and highlights from a study mapping the state of play, challenges, and opportunities of micro and small businesses (MSEs) in the Czech Republic.

The study was prepared by Mastercard in cooperation with the Centre for Economic and Market Analyses and CEC Group.  The keynote speaker Payal Dalal, Senior Vice President Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, discussed the project and key findings. She was joined by Tomas Prouza, President of the Confederation of Trade and Tourism of the Czech Republic (SOCR), who provided the Czech economic context. Ministry of Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Petr Ocko introduced government priorities for the business sector, specifically in digitization.

Micro and small enterprises are the backbone of the economies of both the Czech Republic and the U.S.A. Digitalization was highlighted as one of the paths to improve their resilience and strengthen their sustainable growth.
