Deputy Assistant Secretary for Private Sector Exchange Robin Lerner met with young people at the American Center on January 22 during her visit to Prague to discuss the State Department’s Exchange Visitor Program (EVP), which annually brings more than 3,700 Czech citizens to the United States to work, study and teach.
Participants discussed their experiences working in the U.S. as camp counselors, life guards and other seasonal jobs. Through the EVP participants may teach, study, conduct research, share their specialized skills, or receive on-the-job training for periods ranging from a few weeks to several years.
