Chargé d’Affaires Steve Kashkett participated on April 14 in the opening of a Junior Achievement (JA) event highlighting the efforts of hundreds of Czech student entrepreneurs who have created small business that produce innovative products. Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer Tony Jones also served as a “secret judge” in the competition for the best entry.
This annual student business competition and trade fair promotes entrepreneurship and teaches entrepreneurial skills to Czech students. The trade fair features over 40 student companies, with more than 250 students from all regions in the Czech Republic. The U.S. Embassy in Prague and JA have a long and rich history of cooperation.
About 15,000 Czech students participate in JA programs every year. Since 1992, more than 300,000 Czech students have taken part in JA programs across the Czech Republic.
