Commercial Counselor Christina Sharkey took part in a seminar and 40th anniversary celebration of U.S. biotechnology company Biogen at the premises of Charles University Karolinum historical building. The seminar included presentations on the history of biotechnology in medicine, highlighting the treatment of neurological disease including multiple sclerosis and spinal muscular atrophy. Distinguished speakers included Tomas Zima, Dean of Charles University; Jan Konvalinka, Vice-Dean of Charles University; Irena Storova, Director of State Institute for Drug Control; Eva Havrdova, Professor of Neurology at the First Faculty of Medicine, General Faculty Hospital; Jana Haberlova, Pediatric Neurologist, Motol Hospital; Vaclav Novotny, Biogen CEE Regional Managing Director; and Christina Sharkey.
