The U.S. Department of Commerce will be leading the education trade mission to Prague, April 18, 2016. The mission will explore opportunities for international student recruitment and partnerships with higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. Almost 800 students from the Czech Republic currently attend U.S. colleges and universities.
“I’m excited to introduce representatives from a diverse selection of American colleges and universities to the Czech Republic and to promote the educational opportunities to those Czech students interested in studying in the United States,” stated Helen Peterson, Senior Commercial Officer, U.S. Embassy Prague.
Education and training rank among the top 10 U.S. services exports. Over half a million international students currently study in the United States, making it the number one destination for international students. Students choose to study in the United States for a variety of reasons, including our distinguished programs, the close relationship between research and education, the diversity of the student population, and the countless activities beyond the classroom walls that provide students with the chance to develop leadership skills and community spirit.
The mission, which is being jointly organized with the Fulbright Commission and the EducationUSA, will include education sector briefings and a student fair, with additional matchmaking and networking sessions with local schools and faculties.
The fair is taking place on the premises of Anglo-American University, Lázeňská 4, Prague 1 – Malá Strana, on Monday April 18, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
