The U.S. Embassy’s American Center in Prague organized an all-day Junior Ambassador Day event on June 8, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, featuring 20 Czech students and their senior Rotary sponsors. The selected participants spent a full day at the U.S. Embassy and the American Center meeting with various representatives from Embassy offices, including the Marine Security Guard detachment. The program concluded with a private tour of the Ambassador’s historic residence.
In the Ambassador’s remarks to the Junior Ambassadors, he said: “We have organized this Junior Ambassador’s Day for many years with Rotary Club… Many of you traveled a great distance to be with us today, and your commitment to international affairs and public service is truly admirable.”
Every year, Rotary Club and the Embassy’s American Center organize a Junior Ambassador essay contest open to all high school and undergraduate university students in the Czech Republic. Selected Czech students for the Junior Ambassador program are then invited to meet the U.S. Ambassador and spend the day learning about the work of a U.S. Embassy. Top winners of the essay contest, as well as every participant, receive a small token from the Embassy.
