Ambassador Schapiro Visits Czech Forces in Afghanistan

U.S. Ambassador Andrew Schapiro visited Czech forces in Afghanistan together with Chief of General Staff Josef Becvar on June 2nd. The Czech military has started using the ScanEagle drones donated by the U.S. The ten drones, worth about CZK 200 million, have been deployed for the surveillance and protection of allied forces at the Bagram base since the beginning of June.

Ambassador Schapiro said: “I am very pleased with this partnership. I think it will be very useful.” The Ambassador also praised the Czech personnel at the base for being highly qualified.
