Ambassador Andrew Schapiro went for his first official trip outside of Prague to Brno on October 7 and 8. He loved the “wonderful combination of the old and new, the beautiful historic buildings as well as the vibrant tech sector, and lively universities.”
The visit to the Museum of Roma Culture and discussions with the Roma leaders gave the new U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic insight into the history, culture and current life of the Czech Roma community. The economic part of the Brno visit focused on U.S.-Czech cooperation in the region.
